LONG TIME NO SEA.

Hahaha, I saw that on a Garfield postcard once. It made me laugh really hard.

Well, this is exactly why I do not like blogs. I'm really bad at updating. I've had all these random ideas in my head about what I wanted to do for the SRP (most of them involved blowing things up, but I don't think Ms Zhang would let, right?) So I was looking around, tryna find something that was interesting, and then I found this experiment on acid rain and how it effects our environment (like all our statues, buildings, plants etc.) but it's supposed to be for Elementary school kids. Which is like our primary school, right?

But, seriously, I love acid rain. And that topic in Year 8 was epic. The thought of rain that made rocks dissolve... -insert evil laughter here- x)

OHOHOHOH, I just found something! "What type of plastic wrap prevents evaporation the best?" But I really want to destroy something... Decisions, decisions.

Hey, how do you find out how much Vitamin C is in something?

Now I'm just talking to myself. Great.

"Does the presence of cigarette smoke affect the growth rate of plants?" Damn, my Dad'll kill me if I start lighting cigarettes near his plants, LOL

"How long do home haircoloring products hold their color? Does brand matter? Does type of hair make a difference in determining the degree of colorfastness? How does previous treatment (perming, previous coloring, straightening) affect initial color intensity and colorfastness?" Oh, I like the sound of this one. But then I'd have to dye my hair a lot of different colours, right? Does this have to have parental consent?

"How permanent are permanent markers? What solvents (e.g., water, alcohol, vinegar, detergent solution) will remove the ink? Do different brands/types of markers produce the same results?" DING, DING, DING! I think I've found mine, yay! Am I allowed to test the affects on the skin? Or does it have to be on like plastic or something? (OH, DAD'S HOME, TIME TO EAT, YAY!) Okay, back, erm, I think I'll do this.

Can you tell I haven't put much thought into this? I REALLY WANT TO DO SOMETHING WITH STORMS AND LIGHTNING AND THUNDER AND YEAH. But then I'd have to make sure it storms a lot, so I can gather the data and stuff. Too difficult. I want to measure how loud the thunder actually is. And why is light faster than sound? Or is it the other way around? OMG, FAIL, NING, FAILLL.

Well, yes, I'm going to stick with the permanent marker experiment. Hey, why is vinegar good for mozzie bites?

Um, yeah. The independant variables are the different solvents and the different permanent markers, right? The dependant variable is how much of the permanent marker comes off, right? Omg, I do not get this :S The controlled variables are the amount of solvent I use? And how much I draw with the marker? Right? Right?

THIS HAS CONFUSED ME TO BITS. But I think I sort of get it now. Thankyou, Google (:

Oh, and I got my ideas from here.

  1. Ning, you haven't actually given me enough details at all about how you are planning to actually go about doing the experiment!

You DO realise that this practical is suppose to be a LONG TERM investigation. Which means that you are suppose to do it over the LONG TERM. Not just rush it at the end.
